Content brand of the week: OnePlusOne, the charity that wants to save your relationship

TWO! Nailed it. I always was good at mental maths.

This isn’t a pub quiz, we’re talking about a brand, or more specifically a charity content brand.

I’ll put my scientific calculator back in my pencil case then.

That would be best. Relationship charity OnePlusOne is the lead partner behind a new website that aims to save rocky relationships by recommending daily tender gestures, or ‘Love Nuggets’.

Somebody probably should’ve checked that name on Urban Dictionary before they bought the domain…

Get your mind out of the gutter, it’s actually a very sweet site with some terrific recommendations for keeping the romance fires burning.

Does it have tips for what to do when the other person in the relationship has filed a restraining order against you?

For the last time, you and Jennifer Lawrence are NOT in a relationship. And even if you were, the site wouldn’t help you overcome a legally binding document, LoveNuggets is all about small gestures that’ll put a smile on your beloved’s face. Look ‘ere.

Cute, eh? The site is the centrepiece of the charity’s content production and is reported to be part-funded by the UK Department for Education.

Wait, how did the government know about mine and Jennifer’s relationship problems? That Snowden guy was right! Where did I put my tin-foil hat?

I’m not going over this again with you. What we especially like about Love Nuggets, other than the warm fuzzy glow in our tummies it gives us, is the way OnePlusOne is using the site as fuel for its social media channels. The individual suggestions are repurposed into cutesy graphics to be shared on social.

Did I already say “Nawwwwwww!!”?

You did. The best bit about all of this is that all the content (the words anyway) is user generated. OnePlusOne started by asking social fans to submit their own suggestions via email.

And now the site is live there’s also a quick and easy form you can use.

So OnePlusOne has managed to get other people to do an amazing job of producing some really great content with a charitable purpose behind it. You couldn’t ask for more.

Brilliant! Now I’ve got to go, I just found out J-Law is in town for a premiere…
