Monday Funday: rugby rivals, formula funnies and martians attack

Monday Funday is our weekly post where we round up the funniest (and sometimes unfunniest) bits of brand humour and collect them all up in one place – so you don’t have to spend your entire workday scrolling through YouTube and BuzzFeed. Get ready to have your ribs tickled.

Neighbourhood rivalry

This promo spot for the BBC’s Six Nations coverage leaked last week despite the Beeb deciding not to air it. The truth is it’s a pretty fair (and funny) reflection of the way rugby fans in the Northern hemisphere feel – even if it is a bit ‘anti-English’.

The formula for funny

We love these cute shorts from the McLaren Formula 1 team. This one casts renowned F1 playboy James Hunt as a 007-style secret agent with the twin missions of saving the world and winning the Monaco GP. Great fun for kids, with some wicked double-entendres sprinkled in for older viewers.

Extra-terrestrial adverts for instant mashed potato don’t come much funnier than this. Pure vintage gold
