We jumped at the chance to work with the good folks at Properganda to help rework their much-respected magazine for specialist, independent music. The first edition of the redesigned glossy found its way onto shelves in July, and following reports of greatly increased readership, the second volume is available in large and small record stores now.
On the cover is 11-piece folk superband Bellowhead; inside are interviews with blues mistress Joanne Shaw Taylor, folk fiddler Kathryn Tickell and exclusive insights into the stories behind by new releases by Barb Jungr, Courtney Pine and Mott the Hoople frontman Ian Hunter. Covering all things good and new in world, jazz and folk music, Properganda is free to take home.
If acoustic music is your thing, keep your eyes peeled for Spotlight England, a Speak Media-produced newspaper recently released to chart the EFDSS’ ongoing hunt for the best in English folk music – issue 2 will be out soon.
